Amazing video. 👏
Can you give me the best source to buy the gold, and the specs on the gold you use.? Thanks Dave
Multiple places to buy small quantities. A refiner like Hoover and Strong if you are buying large quantities . 24k is the easiest to inlay
This is absolutely incredible.
Do you think there was a combination of some etching with engraving to get the desired effect? The size, detail and perfection is astounding. Thanks for sharing your acquisition done in the bank note style of engraving. Truely, a lost art or dying art to say the least.
I'm a wood engraver, always amazed by the skill of the 19th century engravers, wood or metal
Three master engravers discussing amazing works of 19th century banknote engravers. I think you have to be a hand engraver to appreciate the work of those early masters.
So, Thank you for the Video....I have a 1873 Colt SAA that in 1876 was sent to Spies, Kissam & co. NY, NY. Documentation states that Nimschke did most of the engraving for them. Issue.....My Colt is Nickeled and Engraved but I have no idea who did the work. No stamp / signature that I can see. How / Who can identify the Engraver ? The Gun Dealer in Sedona AZ. who sold the Colt documented that the Colt was "C" coverage by a "Master Engraver"....thats it. I want to know Who did the work...Barking up a tall tree or is it possible ??
wow this is so cool. oh today I just carved my first coin even with Donald but this is really addictive. is there a video on how to make a "relief" effect, especially on the face? thanks

Scott, Just came across this video from 4 years ago and want to say thank you from Jeff (Dad) and I on the compliment of his and now our work. Jeff was very happy when I showed him the video and we are still hard at work and plan on to for years to come. One of my favorite quotes from one of Dad's interviews when I was a kid "I do work and sell work that everybody wants, but no body needs." Hunter Jeffrey Flannery Jeff Flannery Engraving Company
I am glad he is still alive to share his knowledge and experience.

George Washington makes a nude torso if you remove the nose and turn the behind the ear into an arm
Amazing video thanks for sharing sir
Mr Smith Is the scroll print that you mention at the beginning of your first book still available for purchase if I send a check to the address printed in the book?
great tips, and good video, one point, Ergonomics is the study of body posture, kinesthetics is the study of a bodies motion, ie the least, most ecconomic movement to execute any given task.( for repetitive actions the least muscle used, and the lesser the force, the better). one analogy to this is that the micro-surgeon does the same thing, over a microscope, and tiny, deliberate motion of tools, for long hours, to save "burning oneself out" means getting comfortable, thats the secret to endurance, safety, and lessening fatigue.
that was great :) thanks
Common sense isn't so common these days.
I find walter pistol, can you help me please with him, it's similar like model 8
Excellent and interesting review of the Walther .25 caliber pistols and variations. Thanks for your effort and knowledge on these fine pistols.
Why would anyone take a rare coin and destroy it's value? Please don't call it a work of art, that's not art it's simply destruction. If I am not mistaken, defacing US coins is a crime. Shame on you for this video.
Only altering coins with the intent of fraud is illegal. Think about those penny smashing machines at every tourist trap and zoo. Why can't this be art just because of the medium though? Nothing particularly special about those coins that warrants preservation.
Nice Job, Harry!
Beautiful folk art
How you doing). Would you like to sell one of these pistols? I would gladly buy from you). I'm from Russia
Don’t hold me to this, but I think the steam engines were used at the Dunlap coke ovens... I THINK. I know the director of the coke ovens museum is interested in one of the steam locomotives.
Could be the camera but that Lindsay palm control sounds like it's a little off.
I found this video by accident, Scott. Beautiful words. I have a student who's 101 y.o. Age is just a number, right? :)
Hello there...I'm from Philippines...can I know how much the training?
Who gives a fuck about Ken hunt? I'm here for you, shut up about the other guy and worry about what you are doing
Wow, thanks for posting, My father was in this video with his newf!
Amayak is an absolute treasure and I am proud to call him my friend. He does the most amazing work and has given me a lot of great advice. Every time I see him I find myself taking lots of notes!
